Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the father: Ye shall have eternal life. -2 Nephi 31:20

Oficina week 10 - Vote Mitt Romney, says España

What in the world??? Me and Elder Call look alike?? Que OFENSIVO!! Haha no we actually got that a couple times from some of our investigators that we look alike. I was so confused when i looked at all the emails and everyone was saying we look alike... i couldnt figure it out until i looked at the pictures! He´s probably the strangest companion i´ve ever had haha but i love him to death. Im glad you all got a good kick out of our amazing looks.
So EVERYONE here loves Mitt Romney. Every member here always talks about him and how amazing it would be to have a member of the church as the President of the states. One member actually got up last fast sunday and bore his testimony about it. Haha it was hilarious. Even random people on the street will recognize that I´m from America and say "you might have a president from your church soon huh?" There´s also little TV screens in the metros that are filled with news on politics. I dont ever really understand what it´s saying though because its all in Catalan. I never thought people here would ever be so involved in American politics. Sorry if this offends Jon and Eric but i thought it was pretty funny. It´s so weird being completely separated from the world. It seems like everything back in the real life is staying exactly the same, but it´s really us as missionaries who stay exactly the same and the whole world around us changes dramatically. I dont think i ever want to go back to the real world haha
In our special meetings this past week, President focused a ton on the importance of members and how to get them involved in the work. We did a billion practicas with the ward council and how we can give better reports of our investigators. A miracle we saw this week was at our ward council on sunday. The meeting started with us missionaries talking about our investigators and less-actives and we went through each person one by one talking about their needs and which specific member could help them. With each person talked about, our Bishop would go to the leaders of each organization and ask which member could help each person. I thought it would be super hard to talk about all of the people we´re teaching and that we´d run out of time because there´s all 3 of us companions that work in the office in the same ward. But we were able to go through everyone and find ways that we can help them progress and come to church. Now we just have to go through with all the plans and see the miracles play out. We really will see a change in the work when we use the help of the members in the way we should.
Val thats soooo good that Shazi got baptized!! im so happy for you. My eyes have really been opened up with how important the members are in the missionary work. There was a statistic the President Hinckley told us in this last conference that of the converts who live by themselves without the support of members, 8% stay active. And of the converts who either live with a member or have friends in the church, 85% stay active. It goes up a whole 100% if there is a member involved. Pretty amazing. It makes me want to be a ward mission leader for the rest of my life. I´ll be completely content if i have that calling for my whole life.

Love you fam. Until next week

Elder Reeves
